As self defense instructors and school owners, we began the Honoring Elderly Lives with Prevention & Awareness initiative in response to the violent attacks against elderly citizens and those who happen to be part of the Asian American and Pacific Islander community. Our goal is to proactively share information that will aid in keeping the older members of our community safe. At the H.E.L.P. & Awareness Zoom seminar, you will learn preventative practices for safe living, gain information about community resources, and get introduced to basic self-defense strategies. You don’t have to fight to help protect another human being, but you should have some understanding of what you can do and how to respond, with access to credible resources. Arming you with such information and resources is our main objective.
BIO: Charlie Smith - I have trained in self defense for 45 years, and I have been an instructor for the 32 years. Currently, I own Mind, Body, and Spirit Kajukenbo, offering private self defense and martial arts instruction in Mountain View. I also work at the Mountain View Los Altos Adult School, where I teach in the High School Diploma and GED departments. As the father of two beautiful Asian American girls, I joined the Honoring Elderly Lives with Prevention & Awareness initiative in order to support and give back to the community that has given so much to my family and me.
