Though yoga has its origins in India, it’s benefits are available to West, the same way the inventions of the West are available to the East. The term ‘yoga’ typically means yoga asana or postures to most people. But yoga is much broader. The yoga session will establish the broader context of yoga and then zoom in [no pun intended ;-)] to the familiar yoga asana/poses. Yoga asanas along with the associated breathing and meditative practices help to provide strength, flexibility, enhanced immunity and ability to handle stress; leading to an overall well-being and good health. The session will tease you to consider yoga given its benefits accompanied by a live demonstration of select yoga practices. The session will be presented by Venki Venkatesh.

Venki is an engineer by training and leads the effort to applying Artificial Intelligence techniques to Electronic Design Automation problems at his company. Besides he is a volunteer and co-founder of ILP ( an organization dedicated to cause of education. Of most relevance to the session at hand, he is passionate about teaching yoga.
